Mabon

The festival of Mabon celebrates the Autumn Equinox, the theme here is balance, day and night are of equal length, no season lasts forever and neither dark or light overpowers the other for too long.
As the warm embrace of Summer starts to give way to the crisp and colourful beauty of Autumn we honour the Harvest and give thanks for the Earth's abundance and when the light begins to wane we turn inward for rest, reflection and introspection.
Mabon is a time to celebrate nature, harvest and the changing seasons, it helps us prepare for the Winter months. This isn't just about stocking up on food and preparing for colder weather, it's reflecting on what we've achieved over the year, our personal growth and what we're thankful for. It's also a time to release what no longer serves you, a time for balance just as the natural world finds balance between day and night.

A Candle- you could use, deep Orange, yellow, deep Red or Brown
Paper/Journal and Pen
Some quiet uninterrupted time
With your candle, pen and paper in front of you close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out, quiet your mind and let go of any negative thoughts. When you feel ready open your eyes and light your candle.
Reflect on the following questions and write your answers on the paper or in your journal if you prefer.
What Abundance did you receive over the year?
What blessings are you grateful for?
What achievements do you want to celebrate?
How have you changed and grown?
Where do you feel Balanced?
Where do you feel out of balance?
What are you ready to let go?
Take time to read over your responses, focus on the flame and as the candle burns out reflect on balance in your life, show gratitude for the abundance and prepare to let go of what you no longer need to make way for the new.
Just as the Seasons around us change, so do we.
Blessed Be.
